Jammu and Kashmir Entrepreneurship Development Institute (JKEDI) conducted Entrepreneurship Awareness Program (EAP) at Parnewa and Churmujroo blocks of district Budgam in which almost 140 people participated.

“The awareness programs were held in collaboration with Nehru Yuva Kendra (NYK) Budgam to provide the participants an insight into the world of entrepreneurship and make them aware of different government schemes available to help the educated unemployed youth earn their livelihood,” the statement said.

“The EAP was part of the special series of awareness programs being conducted by the JKEDI in remote pockets of district Budgam so that the educated unemployed youth are made aware of the beneficial schemes of the State and Central government regarding entrepreneurship and self-employment,” the statement added.

JKEDI District Nodal Officer for Budgam, Dr Naila Khanday, and Ahsan Qadir, Faculty delivered a motivational lecture regarding entrepreneurship and self-employment on the occasion. 50 youth participated in the program at Churmujroo while 85 youth were present in the awareness program at Parnewa.

“The Institute through its awareness programs intends to reach out to the educated youth of Jammu and Kashmir and provide them a platform where they can succeed collectively. In the EAPs the participants were acquainted with the realities of labour market in the State along with the scope of entrepreneurship development/ self-employment in various sectors of the State economy,”  the statement reads.
