The District Centre, Jammu of Jammu and Kashmir Entrepreneurship Development Institute (JKEDI) on Tuesday (November 26) celebrated the Constitution Day (Samvidhan Divas).

JKEDI Jammu celebrates Constitution Day

On the occasion, Syed Firdous Bukhari, District Nodal Officer, JKEDI Jammu highlighted the importance of the Constitution Day while Dr Vinod Kumar Sharma, Teaching Associate read out the preamble of the Constitution.

Aga Syed Wahid Ali, Assistant Faculty, Dr Rouf Ahmad Rather, Assistant Faculty, Sajad Ahmad Lone, Assistant Faculty, Monika Salaria, Office Associate and Mehak Sharma also spoke on the occasion.

An awareness program was also conducted as part of the Constitution Day celebrations by the centre in which 20 aspirants from District Centre, Jammu and Centre for Women Entrepreneurship, (CENWENT) Jammu, eligible under Term Loan Scheme of National Minorities Development and Finance Corporation, also participated.

The Constitution Day was first celebrated four years ago in 2015 as a mark of tribute to Dr Bhim Rao Ambedkar, the first law minister of India, who played an important role in the framing of the Indian Constitution.

November 26 marks the day when India had adopted its constitution in the year 1949. The constitution came into force on January 26, 1950.
