Jammu and Kashmir Entrepreneurship Development Institute (JKEDI) organised entrepreneurship awareness-cum loan fair at Doda, an official statement said on Friday.

“At least 600 participants, including educated unemployed youth, Sarpanchs and officials from different government line departments were present on the occasion,” the statement said.

The awareness programme was held at Town Hall Doda. District Development Commissioner Doda, Shyam Vinod Meena was the Chief Guest and Commanding Officer 10 RR, Col Sunil Mishra was the Guest of Honour on the occasion. GM District Industries Centre, Doda, District Information Officer were also present, it informed.

“The awareness programme was regarding term loan scheme, the institute implements under National Minorities Development and Finance Corporation (NMDFC).”

Addressing the gathering, DDC Doda said, “People who lack commitment opt for government jobs only while entrepreneurs take up the responsibility and accept challenges in their lives.”

The DDC assured all possible support from district administration Doda for JKEDI’s initiatives to minimize unemployment through entrepreneurship.

Col Mishra in his address said entrepreneurship is the only option to curb growing unemployment among educated youth. He also assured army’s support to JKEDI and its pro-entrepreneurial initiatives, the statement said.

JKEDI Regional Coordinator, Jammu, Dr. Majid Manzoor Khan gave a detailed overview of all the schemes being implemented by JKEDI to the participants with special discussion on NMDFC.

Later on SVEEP awareness was imparted to participants. GM DIC Doda & DIO Doda was also present. DIO sensitized participants about summary revision, continuous updating, and importance of voting among others and appealed to spread message of voter registration among there near and dear ones.”
