Commissioner Secretary, Labour and Employment Department, Saurabh Bhagat, on Tuesday chaired a meeting of Steering Committee of Seed Capital Fund Scheme (SCFS) and Youth Startup Loan Scheme (YSLS) at Bari Brahmna, Jammu campus of JKEDI in which 249 cases of aspiring entrepreneurs sponsored by Jammu and Kashmir Entrepreneurship Development Institute (JKEDI) under different schemes were approved.

The meeting was attended by Tufail Mattoo, Director JKEDI, Y P Suman, Director Employment Department, Shahid Mehmood, Joint Director Employment, Chetan Paljore, President (CBO), J&K Bank, Dr Manisha Koul, Deputy Director Employment Jammu and Dr Majid Manzoor Khan, Chief Faculty JKEDI.

District Nodal Officers of JKEDI, District Officers of Employment Department, Regional Coordinator (Trainings) Jammu and sectoral experts from the line departments were present in the meeting.

A total of 249 cases were approved by the Committee, of which, 200 cases were approved under SCFS involving a total project cost of Rs.2531.8 lakh  including seed capital of 849.39 lakh. Besides, a total of 49 cases were approved under YSLS involving a total project cost of Rs.412.63 lakh including JKEDI contribution of Rs.371.37 lakh.

It was decided that emphasis shall be given to priority sectors besides focus shall also be laid on High Employment Potential Sectors (HEPS) under the Seed Capital Fund Scheme and Youth Startup Loan Scheme being implemented by JKEDI.
