In the wake of the incident, the Jammu and Kashmir Electrical Engineering Graduates Association (JKEEGA) expressed profound grief and extended heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family. In an official statement, the association said, “Although words are poor comforters, all engineers of JKPDD share sincere and heartfelt sympathy with the family of the deceased in this hour of grief.”

Calling attention to the risks routinely undertaken by engineers and technical staff, JKEEGA urged the government to introduce immediate protective and welfare measures. The association particularly stressed the need for a comprehensive insurance scheme for all JKPDD staff. “Such incidents, though rare, remind us of the dangers frontline staff face every day to ensure uninterrupted power supply to the public and critical institutions such as hospitals,” it said.

JKEEGA also underlined the hazardous nature of working with live electrical systems, calling for systemic reforms to prioritise safety protocols and staff welfare across the power infrastructure.
