Police on Sunday detained Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) chief Yasin Malik in Srinagar ahead of Prime Minister Narendra Modi visit to Kashmir.

According to a spokesman, a large posse of police arrived at Malik’s Maisuma residence and detained him. He has been lodged at Kothibagh police station.

Earlier, Joint  Resistance Leadership comprising Syed Ali Geelani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, and Yasin Malik had appealed people to observe complete shutdown against the Modi’s visit to the Jammu and Kashmir.
