JKLF condemns continued detention of its chairman, others

While condemning the arrest of JKLF chairman Muhammad Yasin Malik and others leaders and activists, the JKLF spokesman in a statement on Monday said that putting peaceful political activists, religious, social leaders behind bars and choking space on political activities cannot put the nation of Kashmir into submission.

The spokesman said that Malik was arrested by police on February 22, 2019, while as JKLF district president Ganderbal Bashir Ahmad Rather (Boya), district president Budgam Gulzar Ahmad Pahalwan along with many others were also arrested respectively.

While condemning these arrests, the spokesman said that raids against political activists, leaders, religious and social figures including the Jama’at leadership is highly condemnable.

Meanwhile, JKLF has expressed its heartfelt grief and sorrow over the demise of the Qazi Ahmadullah of Khanyar who was the father of veteran photojournalist Qazi Irshad, Ghulam Hassan Dhobi of Naid-Kadal.
