Chairman Jammu Kashmir liberation front (JKLF) Muhammad Yasin Malik has paid rich tributes to Kashmiri prisoners who are serving life imprisonment or have been languishing in jails under some other charges and has said that hundreds of Kashmiris have been imprisoned for life or long periods while as thousands still remain incarcerated under black laws like PSA.

Malik in a statement said that no one from international community is concerned about the plight of these people who have been imprisoned for perusing a political struggle.

He said that Kashmiri prisoners were convicted falsely against al norms of justice and law and now after putting them in jails for years, rulers are using every tactic to prolong their incarceration.

Terming the silence of international community and international institutions on human rights and justice as criminal, Malik said that “Indian courts  following the orders of executive are denying these inmates every right to live in freedom and perusing the doctrine of injustice are prolonging their incarceration in jails. While as international community stands as a mute spectator on this injustice.”

Terming these inmates as heroes Malik said that “nation of Kashmir is indebted to these people and we will never forget their sacrifices for the just cause. He said that month of February especially reminds us the injustice committed by Indian judiciary against Kashmiris as this is the month when father of Kashmiri nation Muhammad Maqbool Butt and Muhammad Afzal Guru were hanged and martyred by Indian state.”

Meanwhile JKLF has paid rich tributes to Pervaiz Ahmad and Umer Gazi who were killed in a gun battle in Sopore and said that “these highly educated sons of soil are forced to sacrifice their lives by tyrant Indian state and its Kashmiri stooges who have left no space available for peaceful political struggle.”

JKLF has also expressed its grief and sorrow over the demise of veteran religious figure and spiritual personality Moulana Alawud-Din-Sideequi who breathed his last yesterday. Terming his death as a great loss to the Islamic world, JKLF said that by his demise Islamic world has lost a great human and scholar.
