Srinagar

Members of Jammu Kashmir liberation front (JKLF) on Friday staged a protest in Abi Guzar Srinagar demanding the release of JKLF chairman Muhammad Yasin Malik and Cleric Mushtaq Ahmed Veeri.

Earlier in a week, Veeri and Malik were detained under Public Safety Act (PSA) and shifted to Jammu jail.

Soon after the culmination of Friday prayers, scores of the JKLF leaders and activists assembled in Abi Guzar and sought the release of all the political prisoners who were arrested by the authorities recently.

The protesting members also condemned the arrest of other Jama’at leaders who were arrested earlier after the central government banned the outfit. “We strongly condemn the arrests and slapping of PSA to Malik and Veeri,” one of the protesting members told media.

The protesting activists and leaders demanded the immediate release of all the political at the earliest.
