Senior leaders of Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) Sunday condemned the continued denial of visa to the family of its chairman Mohammad Yasin Malik and termed it as most “uncivilized and inhuman act.”
“Denying an innocent child a chance to see her father and family is inhuman. Stopping the spouse of Malik and his 18 month old daughter from visiting their home in Kashmir cannot be termed but as most undemocratic, inhuman and uncivilized act,” leaders of JKLF advocate Bashir Ahmad Bhat, engineer Ghulam Rasool Dar Eidhi, Showkat Ahmad Bakhshi, Javed Ahmad Zargar, Mir Mohammad Zaman, Mushtaq Ajmal, Mohammad Yasin Bhat, Manzoor Mustafa, Sheikh Abdul Rashid, M H Altaf, Sheikh Mohammad Afzal, Imtiyaz Ahmad (Bitta Guru), Sheikh Khalid Mubarak and Mohammad Sideeq Shah said in a joint statement.
They said that Indian rulers and authorities “who have been continuously harassing Malik for speaking and standing for a true cause, have now resorted to yet another condemnable tactic to harm him.”
“From a long time now New Delhi has been prevaricating on the issue of granting visa to Malik’s wife Mushaal Malik and his 18 month old daughter Razia Sultana and thus has been denying them their basic human right to visit and join their family in Kashmir,” they said.
Malik’s wife visited Kashmir last time in February 2011 and in this period the family was blessed with a girl child who is now 18 month old. After her birth little Razia is still waiting Indian visa to see her father, family and home in Kashmir. “The irony is that she has been even denied meeting with her father and separated from him forcefully till now. Malik’s father also died during this period and Indian mode of evading remained unchanged because of which a daughter in law and a granddaughter were not able to condole on the demise of their dear one,” the JKLF leaders said that how can Indian which speaks highly of its democratic values and Gandhi’s Ahinsa deprive a little girl of 18 months from getting affection of her father?
