A faction of Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front led by Farooq Ahmad Dar alias Bitta Karatey on Tuesday joined newly created Hurriyat conference (Jammu Kashmir), a split group of Hurriyat (M).

Pertinently, Hurriyat (JK) had recently invited ‘likeminded’ people to join the forum.

According to a statement issued by JKLF (R) a delegation led by its chairman Farooq Ahmad Dar had a meeting with Hurriyat (JK) leaders after which they decided to join.

“In the meeting, front chairman Dar put forth his decision which said that the resistance leadership is bound to work together and that is in the larger interest of the resistance movement,” the statement said, adding, “the front has unanimously decided that in order to strengthen the resistance movement, we will work in letter and spirit with Hurriyat Conference Jammu Kashmir.”

While welcoming the decision of JKLF (R), Shabir Ahmad Shah (Leader of Hurriyat JK) reiterated to work in tandem with each other ‘in order to strengthen the resistance movement on every level’.
