Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) chief Mohammad Yasin Malik reached Tral on Monday before dawn to visit the family of slain militant commander Burhan Muzaffar Wani and other families of civilians who were killed in the ongoing agitation of 2016.

“I left in midnight without informing anybody and reached here before Fajar prayers,” Malik told Kashmir Life on phone.

In Tral, he met the father of Wani after which he left to offer prayers at the grave of Burhan. But as soon as he reached near graveyard, that area was already cordoned off by the joint team of army and SOG parties, who had allegedly come to arrest Malik.

But locals rescued Malik through small lanes and bylanes. As this report is being filed, JKLF chief was at Khankah Tral where he is planning to pray Zuhar prayers after which he will address people.

Pertinently, Malik left all alone from his Maisuma residence in midnight to reach Tral. He drove himself and nobody else is accompanying him from his party.

Malik was arrested within hours after Burhan Wani’s killing in an encounter and was relaesed only last week. He said he had not visited Wani’s home and met his family.
