SRINAGAR: The Jammu and Kashmir Mechanical engineering Graduates Association (JKMEGA)  has welcomed the decision of the government regarding the posting of MD J&K Cements.

The association president Er Firdous Bhat in a statement said that it was long pending demand that JK cements being a mechanical production unit was always run by technocrats at the top but unfortunately, the same practice was stopped before 10 years.

He apprised that JK Cements being an asset can be revived if technocrat managers are deputed at all levels and requested the Administration that Mechanical Engineer’s should be Posted on deputation on an urgent basis at all levels to revive the much important asset.

He also requested the Administration that same analogy should be repeated in all other departments like JKPDC, J&K minerals, Geology and Mining, JMC, SMC, Cable Corporation, Tourism etc and all Mechanical engineering posts and requirements should be filled by the deputation from parent R&B department at an earliest as the only right person for the right job can enhance development and productivity

“The posts in past for Mechanical Engineers are being held by mostly non-technical or lying vacant,” he said.

They also again requested Government to redress the long-pending issue of Regularisation, SRO for cabinet approved ACP and importantly filling of all vacant posts at all levels including at AE level as the 2009 appointee JE batch is still waiting for first promotion from last 11years.

The JKMEGA conveyed gratitude and thanks to Honourable LG G C Murmu, Advisor Bhatnagar and especially Commissioner secretary R&B Shalinder Kumar for a historic decision regarding JKCEMENTS and for posting of Chief Engineer ( Mechanical) at Leh.
