JKP Takes up Detention of Two Kashmiri Girls with its Delhi Counterpart

Two Kashmiri girls, who are studying MBBS in Bangladesh, and were returning home were detained Friday afternoon by Delhi Indira Gandhi International airport.

Worried parents of the two girls told KNS that four girls were retraining home from Bangladesh when police at the airport detained them at the airport.

“Four girls were returning from Bangladesh. They travelled safely from Dhaka to Kolkata and then to Delhi in flights. Their language was checked and cleared at all the airports,” the parents told KNS.

“But when they reached Delhi Airport today morning to board their flight at 12:45 pm, police at the Indira Gandhi airport detained all four. Thereafter they released two and detained two among them,” the parents said.

They said that a bag of one of the girls had a label ‘Bomb’ written on it, and the police detained them on this pretext.

“The airport authorities did not inform us about them till yet. We fear for their safety,” the parents said.

A top police official said that the issue has taken up the case with Delhi police for the release of the two girls.
