Mission Director Jammu and Kashmir Rural Livelihoods Mission (JKRLM), Abdul Rashid War today inaugurated a four-day residential training programme for block level officials.

The training programme was organised by JKRLM in collaboration with National Institute of Rural Development & Panchayati Raj Hyderabad (NIRD&PR).

A team of experts from NIRD&PR shall impart training to District Programme Mangers, Block Programme Managers of Umeed from both the Jammu and Kashmir provinces.

On the occasion, it was emphasized that apart from capacity building for the officials of JKRLM, structured support shall be provided at Block level for the cluster level federations to make them self-sustained and community-led structures.

Subsequent to the training the state resource persons shall visit the block where the field testing of the developed standard operating procedure (SOP) on Model CLF shall be done, wherein they will get the firsthand experience on the applicability of SOP.

Speaking on the occasion, Mission Director said that the basic aim of the training programme is to bring financial sustainability, financial inclusion, social inclusion, social development and enhancement of livelihood.

He further said that model CLF shall become financially self-sustained in a shorter span of time and benefit the members of Self Help Groups (SHGs).
