SRINAGAR: The traffic movement from Gangangeer towards Sonamarg will remain suspended for 24 hours due to the inclement weather conditions.
“In view of persistent inclement weather conditions with looming threat of flash floods and avalanches which are further likely to occur above 2200 meters in Ganderbal General public especially living over hilly areas are advised to avoid unnecessary travel to higher reaches especially during night hours and stay indoors until the weather improves and avoid venturing in avalanche prone areas. Heavy rainfall can lead to flooded roads and hazardous driving conditions.’ reads the order issued by Deputy commissioner Ganderbal.
“Furthermore, the traffic movement from Gagangeer Check post towards Sonamarg shall remain suspended for 24 Hours. Sub-Divisional Magistrate Kangan, SDPO Kangan, DySP Traffic Police Ganderbal & Beacon Authorities shall closely monitor the situation and update for further orders.” It reads further.(KS)
