SRINAGAR: Union Minister of State for Commerce and Industry, Jitin Prasada, on Wednesday said that Jammu and Kashmir reported a total export value of Rs 42.12 crore for the fiscal year 2023-24 in the software, IT-enabled services, and automobile sectors.
Speaking in Parliament, Prasada, said the data covered software, IT-enabled services, and automobile exports from the region. “For Software Technology Parks of India (STPI)-registered units, Jammu and Kashmir reported a total export value of Rs 41.93 crore. This reflects the contribution of the region’s growing IT sector to India’s overall software export performance,” he added.
In the automotive sector, Jammu and Kashmir’s exports were minimal, he said, noting that the export value of auto components and parts stood at Rs 0.02 crore, while motor vehicles and cars accounted for Rs 0.17 crore. The figures highlight the region’s relatively small contribution to the country’s automobile export sector. (KNO)
