SRINAGAR: The Jammu and Kashmir Sports Council (JKSC) on Wednesday conducted Union Territory-level trials for the Sub-Junior Boys Football team at the TRC Synthetic Football Turf here to select players for the National Football Championship 2026.
Young footballers from different parts of Jammu and Kashmir took part in the trials, showcasing their skills before the selection panel.
The players were assessed on various parameters, including technical ability, game awareness and physical fitness. The assessment process was also supported by a physiotherapy team.
Secretary, J&K Sports Council, Tazayun Mukhtar Kawos, was present during the proceedings.
The Sports Council said the trials were part of its efforts to identify and nurture football talent at the grassroots level across Jammu and Kashmir.
The council also emphasised that the selection process would remain transparent and merit-based, with players assessed on their performance and overall capabilities.
