SRINAGAR: The Jammu and Kashmir State Council of Educational Research and Training (SCERT) has proposed conducting the examination of the regional language paper for 8th standard simultaneously in both soft and hard zones on April 7.

JKSCERT stated that it did not receive the question papers on time and is unable to provide the Kashmiri subject papers due to a shortage of time.

In a communication, the Joint Director of JKSCERT for the Kashmir division mentioned that, due to the Middle Standard Examination 2024 and the stock position of question papers and reference materials, the confidential material for MSE 2023-24 would be dispatched on March 23, 2024, for the Kashmir Division.

“Given the situation, the regional language paper scheduled for March 24, 2024, in the soft zone needs to be rescheduled as the papers will not be available on the said date due to time constraints,” the statement reads.

The joint director further requested that the regional language paper scheduled for March 24, 2024, in the soft zone be rescheduled and conducted on April 7, along with the regional language paper for the hard zone.

Meanwhile, a complex head in Srinagar stated, “Normally, we used to receive the entire confidential material, including the question papers, before the start of examinations.”

He added, “This year, the complex heads received the confidential materials at the eleventh hour, and a portion of it is yet to be received, including the question papers for Kashmiri and English subjects.”—(KNO)
