Over 3.80 Crores were spent on welfare and rehabilitation programmes during 2012-13 by J&K Yateem Foundation. It was revealed during the celebration of JKYF’s 13th Commemoration Day Function of the foundation.DSC_0332

While presenting the detailed account of the JKYF’s welfare and rehabilitation programmes for the fiscal 2012-13, Mohammad Yaqoob Reshi General Secretary JKYF informed that over Rs. 3.80 crores have been spent on welfare and rehabilitation programmes during 2013 while as Rs. 4.40 crores have been received as donations during the said period. JKYF’s new website www.jkyateemfoundaion.org was also launched on the occasion.

“Society must create an effective check and balance mechanism to ensure transparency, accountability and result oriented work on ground being undertaken by various credible social service organizations in the State,” said the speakers on occasion.

Guest of Honour, Dr. Ghulam Qadir Lone while stressing the need to create a strong socio-economic self-reliant resource base called for channelizing the immense potential of the orphans putting up in various orphanages. He said this would open up opportunities for them to become the future scientists, technocrats, intellectuals and administrators of our state.

Earlier, the Chief Guest inaugurated the photo exhibition titled ‘Together with Orphans, Widows and Destitute’ and also released the Annual Report Ehsaas 2013.
