SRINAGAR: Doctors at the Jawahar Lal Nehru Memorial Hospital (JLNM) Rainawari have successfully conducted an LSCS operation of a Covid-19 patient. Both the mother and the child are all right, hospital sources said.
Hospital sources said the patient had tested positive on May 25, and was immediately admitted to the JLNM Hospital. Her history suggested that the patient had previous LSCS with severe PIH. The patient was given treatment for PIH but her BP was not controlled. This led the doctors to go for the operation.
Emergency LSCS was conducted by the team headed by Gynaecologist, Dr Bashir, Anesthetist, Dr Manzoor Ahmad Beigh. The team included a lady medical officer, two staff nurses, Syed Faheem Bukhari Sr theatre Supervisor and OT in-charge, Samiullah, Theatre Technician, Bashir Ahmad Khan, Anesthesia Technician, Mohammad Shafi and nursing orderlies – Muneer, Ghulam Nabi and others.
A female baby was born and both mother and the baby are doing well. Mother has been given N95 mask, Baby is separated from mother. Attendant of the patient is also given full PPE gear, the hospital sources added.
