Job Fraud Case: Crime Branch Conducts Raids in South Kashmir

   

SRINAGAR: The Special Crime Wing Srinagar of the Crime Branch Kashmir on Wednesday carried out searches at two locations in Awantipora and Kulgam in connection with an ongoing investigation into alleged job fraud cases.

According to officials, the searches were conducted at the residences of Shakeel Ahmad Makroo of Awantipora, Pulwama, and Farooq Ahmad Thokar of Sehpora, Kulgam. The operation is linked to two separate cases — FIR No. 06/2025 and FIR No. 07/2025 — registered under sections 420, 468, and 471 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and Ranbir Penal Code (RPC), respectively.

Both cases pertain to allegations of cheating and forgery involving job frauds allegedly committed by the accused. Officials said the searches are being carried out under search warrants issued by a competent court.

The operation is being conducted in the presence of Executive Magistrates and with the assistance of the local police. Further investigation into the matter is underway, the Crime Branch said.
