SRINAGAR: A joint counter-terrorism operation by the Indian Army, Jammu and Kashmir Police and the CRPF has entered its 14th day in the dense forest areas of Gambhir Mughlan and Dorimal in the Manjakote sector of Rajouri district on Saturday, with security forces continuing efforts to trace suspected militants believed to be hiding in the region.
As part of the ongoing operation, security personnel have intensified search and surveillance measures, including the verification of identity documents of commuters and local residents at various checkpoints.
The operation, codenamed Operation Sheruwali, was launched on the basis of specific intelligence inputs suggesting the presence of suspected militants in the area. Officials said the objective is to contain the suspects within a defined operational zone while search teams continue combing the forested terrain.
Security forces remain deployed across the area as the operation continues.
