Afroz Hussain, younger brother of former BBC senior journalist Altaf Hussain passed away Monday night. He was 55.
Afroz, a professional jeweller, was suffering from Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD). He was undergoing dialysis in a private hospital where the doctors detected certain complications and referred him to the SMHS hospital. He breathed his last there.
A resident of Awanta Bhawan, Hussain is survived by a son and a daughter besides his wife. His son is taking care of his business.
Hussain was laid to rest at their ancestral graveyard around 10:30 am on Tuesday. The funeral was attended by trade, media fraternity, and relatives.
Late Hussain was a cousin of Greater Kashmir editor Fayaz Ahmad Kaloo.
