Refuting the statement of veteran Indian journalist Kuldip Nayar wherein he said “blood of 600 JKLF men not on my hands,” senior Hurriyat (M) leader Javaid Ahmad Mir Monday said these people including some dozens of so called Human Rights activists from 1990-95 exploited our innocence.

He said history bears witness that these people for their personal and national interests adopted use and throw policy to weaken the then freedom struggle and to make Kashmir issue lingering.

“No one from JKLF leadership had desire to meet them, but they used to follow us continuously 5 years even in the jails,” said Mir, the former commander-in-chief of JKLF. He said in the name of peace and stability a delegation of Ranganath Misra Commission held three meeting with me in Jammu jail. “However their motive was only to turn us in the mainstream politics.” He said they had never taken any single step for the resolution of Kashmir “but used the Kashmir issue as a main tool to meet us”.

Mir said on one hand they used raise big slogans of peace like ‘Goli se nahi Boli se’ but on the other hand on their indication the notorious catch and kill operation, disappearance of innocent people were started in Kashmir. “They used to organize symposiums and seminars, and peaceful demonstration to betrayal the people of Kashmir,” he said.

Mir said Nayar used to lead many delegations “promising us to end the armed struggle to resolve the Kashmir issue on table”. “His (Nayar’s) presence in Kashmir after 10 years is eye-opener that how these people exploited our innocence.”

“Not only the delegations from India, we had meetings with various international organizations including US Secretary of state Ms Robin Rahfell, British Parliaments and European Parliament members , wherein she also promised for the resolution if Kashmir issue peacefully,” he said.

He said after the ceasefire and the promises made by International Communities and Indian Human Rights, activists, columnists and Journalists in 1995, “resulted in killing of 600 JKLF men including senior Human Rights activist Jalil Andrabi, Advocate Muhammad Hussain by Indian forces”.
