SRINAGAR: The Jammu Power Distribution Corporation Limited (JPDCL) has facilitated 34 compassionate appointments in long-pending cases under SRO-43, providing relief to eligible families of deceased employees.
The cases predated the implementation of the Rehabilitation Assistance Scheme (RAS)-2022 and had remained pending due to the need for relaxation in the prescribed age and educational qualification criteria.
According to the details, JPDCL undertook a structured process to scrutinise, verify and assess the cases in accordance with the applicable rules and procedures. Each application was examined individually, with the relevant records and eligibility conditions taken into consideration.
Following the scrutiny, the cases were placed before the corporation’s Board of Directors, which approved relaxation of the prescribed educational qualification and/or age limits in eligible cases.
The appointments were subsequently issued after the requisite approvals and completion of the prescribed formalities, bringing the long-pending cases to a conclusion.
The move is expected to provide much-needed relief to the eligible families who had been awaiting consideration of their compassionate appointment cases for an extended period.
