Joint Resistance Leadership comprising Syed Ali Geelani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, and Muhammad Yasin Malik has called for complete shutdown on Monday against the recent killings.

JRL in a statement asked: “People to observe complete shutdown on 26th November Monday to strongly protest and denounce the killing of 17 Kashmiri’s by forces brutal action in the last 3 days.

JRL in its statement said that forces at the behest of “colonial authorities” have crossed every limit of “tyranny” and enjoying a complete immunity, these forces are spilling the blood of Kashmiris at will without any remorse.

“While paying rich tributes to slain militants and civilian in Bijbehara, Pampora during last three days, Leaders said that Kashmir has been turned into a slaughterhouse,” the JRL statement said.

“Delhi’s colonial mindset using its force is responsible for all violence in valley as it suppressed the peaceful resistance of Kashmiris in especially in 2008, 2009, 2010 and 2016 with police and military might, chocked every little space on peaceful activities and continues to suppress peaceful resistance with military and police might,” JRL in a statement said.

JRL in a statement said that India from last seventy-one years has failed to recognize Kashmiri aspirations for the right to self-determination and instead of accepting the reality, is busy killing Kashmiris, maiming, incarcerating and torturing them.

“All this is being done in the name of so-called democracy and peace which in fact is worst kind of autocracy and dictatorship,” said JRL leaders in a statement.

JRL said that from 1990, especially, Kashmiri youth have been rendering valuable sacrifices for the right to self-determination and today when Shopian killings have pierced our hearts and saddened us all, we pay homage to these “martyrs” and pray for their heavenly abode.

“Terming the brutal attack on common people and civilians in which hundreds have been injured, as the worst act of state-sponsored terrorism,” JRL said.

“This bloodbath has plunged whole Kashmir into a state of mourning. Appealing people to observe a complete shutdown against this killing spree on 26th November 2018,” JRL said

“Our protest against state-sponsored terrorism should send a firm signal to Indian oppressor’s that tyranny and oppression can’t defeat our valour and passion for the right to self-determination,” said JRL statement.
