Following the killing of three youth and a militant in South Kashmir on Sunday, Joint resistance leaders Comprising of Syed Ali Geelani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Muhammad Yasin Malik, called for a complete shutdown on Monday.
Terming the killings as “highly unfortunate and unjustified”, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq said, “the forces in Kashmir have become trigger-happy. People must observe a complete shutdown tomorrow against these innocent killings.”
Earlier in a brief gunfight at Pahnoo area of Shopian district, one militant and three youth were killed.
The slain militant has been identified as Shahid Ahmad Dar S/o Mushtaq Ahmad Dar, a resident of Jamnagri, Shopian.
The three other youth have been identified as Suhail Ahmad Wagay, a resident of Pinjoora, Shahid Ahmad Khan of Malikgund and Shahnawaz Wagay, a resident of Trenz.
However, the Army spokesperson claimed that one militant and three overground militant workers were killed.
