The NIA court on Thursday extended the judicial remand of the chairperson of Dukhtaran-e-Mitllat (DeM) Aasiya Andrabi and her two associates, Nahida Nasreen and Sofi Fehmeeda till December 4.
“Judicial custody of trio has been extended till December 4, 2018,” said family sources.
However, the family sources said the court didn’t take the cognizance of the charge sheet filed by NIA on 14/11/2018 on the pretext of not having sufficient time to read the same. The proceedings were held through Video Conference.
Earlier in the day, the district & Session Judge, NIA special court, New Delhi transferred the case of Asiya Andrabi and her two associates to another newly designated NIA special Court of Rakesh Sayal, Additional District & Session Judge, Patiala House, New Delhi, said family sources.
Asiya Andrabi along with two associates have been charge sheeted by NIA under sections 120B, 121, 121A, 124A, 153A, 153B & 505 of the IPC & Sections 13, 17, 18, 38 & 39 of UAPA and they were arrested by NIA in July and currently lodged in Tihar jail.
