SRINAGAR: National Junior Alpine Skiing and Snowboarding championship 2021 concluded in Gulmarg.
The championship was organized by the Winter Games Association J&K and sponsored by the Sports Council J&K.
The championship commenced on February 6 with arrival of 13 state teams to Gulmarg from different parts of the country to participate in Junior skiing and snowboarding competitions.
The competitions started on February 7 till February 10 at Kongdoori for different age groups and sub-junior races were held at Gulmarg.
All the states won medals in both girls and boys categories. The host J&K UT team was declared as the winning team and was able to lift the winner team trophy.
Other states also faired well and won a few medals in spite of participating for the first time. The winners were presented medals in the closing ceremony on February 10, 2021 at Gulmarg where the chief guest Ajaz Asad, Deputy Commissioner Baramulla honored the winners by giving them medals.
He appreciated their performances and wished them best to play on higher level competitions. The President of Winter Games Association, Mohammad Abbas Wani, was all praise and expressed gratitude for the participating teams who came all the way to Gulmarg.
He applauded the winners and thanked the chief guest and all the guests & participants present on the closing ceremony.
