SRINAGAR: BJP legislators on Monday raised issues concerning NHM employees, electricity tariffs and the regularisation of daily wagers as the Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly began its Autumn Session.
During the opening proceedings, BJP members displayed placards seeking justice for National Health Mission (NHM) employees, withdrawal of the increased power tariff and regularisation of daily-wage workers.
The legislators called for government intervention over the pending concerns of NHM personnel and sought measures to address the grievances of workers employed on a daily-wage basis.
They also opposed the existing power tariff structure and demanded that the recent increase be withdrawn.
The issues raised by the BJP formed part of the party’s broader focus during the session on employment-related matters, outsourcing, electricity charges and other public concerns.
Speaker Abdul Rahim Rather intervened during the proceedings and directed that the protest-related matter should not form part of the official proceedings or be reported.
The Autumn Session is scheduled to take up a range of issues relating to governance, employment, public services and other matters concerning people across Jammu and Kashmir.
