After being elevated to the post of chairman with cabinet status, MLA Karnah, Kafil-u-Rehamn assumed the office of chairman advisory board for the development of Pahari Speaking people on Monday.
The Chairman, Kafil u Rehman in his speech stated that the decision for the elevation of the post is a clear recognition of the pending demand of the community and hoped that the upgrading of the status of the advisory board with a chairman of the cabinet rank will go a long way in rejuvenating the community as well as reinvigorating the capacity of the advisory board with tangible results in the near future.
As per a statement Rehman pledged to take forward the cause of the community to its logical conclusion in collaboration and consultation with its representatives across the socio-political spectrum of the state.
The Chairman was accorded a rousing reception with Pahari delegates and community leaders. He was accompanied by Minister for Social Welfare, Sakina Itoo, Minister for Justice, Law and Parliamentary Affairs, Mir Saiffulah, Ex Vice Chairman of the board and Chairman J&K Pahari Cultural and Welfare Forum, Syeed Mushtaq Bukhari, former Speaker J&K Legislative Assembly, Mirza Abdul Rashid, Ex MLCs Qureshi, AR Badhana and Ikhlaq Khan and a number of academicians, intellectuals, lawyers belonging to the community.
In her address, Sakina Itoo applauded Kafil-u-Rehman for strongly advocating the cause for the development of pahari community thorough the platform of legislative Assembly and articulating his concern expressively and unequivocally.
