Kashmir American Humane Society (KAHS) in a statement said that the organization has taken a remarkable initiative to help those who are in the frontline of this crisis by providing them with free of cost protective gear.

“They have successfully completed the first phase of distribution and donated thousands of masks and hand sanitizers to different government and non-governmental organizations, including several NGO’s,” said the statement.

Narjees Nawab, senior advisor to KAHS in a statement said, “the situation demands an extraordinary response. KAHS, a California based non-profit organization has a distinction of immediate and comprehensive response mechanism. A collective effort to prevent the spread of the disease by wearing protective masks and gears is indispensable, and we will be working to that end”.

Kashmir American Humane Society (KAHS) was founded around 2011 and since then, it has developed and implemented numerous projects that have helped the needy people, especially in Kashmir. The organization does not have any paid staff, neither does it have any administrative costs.  All the work is being done and supported by one’s own free will and voluntary action.

Majid Butt, founder of KAHS in a statement said: “We all have to show a sense of responsibility because there are limited resources, but the needs are unlimited”.

“These are uncertain times and people are full of fear & anxiety, so the need of the hour is for everyone to step up and help. The least we can do it stay safe by staying home,” he added.
