Violent protests and clashes have erupted in the Kakapora area of Pulwama in south Kashmir after the news spread that one of the militant has been killed in the ongoing encounter. The police has confirmed the death.
While protesters also pelted stones on police station Kakapora, according to reports, government forces resorted to tear-smoke shelling to disperse them.
The identity of the slain militant was not immediately established, however sources identified him as Rayees Dar alias Munaib an M.Tech Student from Dangar Mohalla Kakapora. Thousands of people have arrived in the native village of the slain militant when this report was being filed.
