A 6 member delegation which, among others, comprised Aga Syed Ahmad Rizvi, MLC; Aga Syed Mohammad Baqir Rizvi, MLA Zanskar; Mr. Tsering Angdus, Councillor, LAHDC called on NN Vohra, Governor, at the Raj Bhavan in Jammu on Thursday, an official statement.

“The delegation apprised the Governor about apprehensions of locals due to blockage of river Phuktal in Zanskar Sub-division; highlighted the problems due to extreme shortage of Kerosene oil and almost no electricity in certain areas. The delegation urged the Governor to intervene in the matter of starting regular air services from Kargil to Zanskar and demanded a motorable road from Panikhar to Pahalgam,” the statement said.

The Governor assured the delegation that all possible steps are being taken to deal with any exigency due to the land slide which has led to the blockage of the Phuktal River and the situation is being closely monitored. Regarding the delegation’s other demands the Governor observed that the same shall receive early attention by the concerned government departments, the statement further said.
