SRINAGAR: Dr Mustafa Aslam, the son-in-law of Congress veteran Ghulam Rasool Dar, died of Covid-19 last night at SKIMS in Srinagar. His wife Khalida, also a doctor, has also tested positive, family sources said.

Radiologist, Dr Mustafa Aslam, son in law of Ghulam Rasool Kar, died of Covid-19 on May 1, 2021.

Aslam, basically a resident of Kanpur in Utter Pradesh, was running a radiology clinic near a petrol pump in Batamaloo. It was one of the oldest radiology clinics in Kashmir name Dr Aslam’s Radiology Clinic that started in the private sector somewhere in 1989 and continued till 2018. However, in the last two years, the clinic was closed because of Aslam eyesight issues, one of his close aides told Kashmir Life.

Aslam has studied medicine in Government Degree College Srinagar where the two are supposed to have met. They married in 1976.

The couple was living in Sanat Nagar Housing Colony in Srinagar. They have a son and a daughter. Their son, Dr Himayun, is in Germany and could not attend his father’s funeral that took place on Saturday evening. His daughter, Dr Falak lives with her family in Canada and was reportedly not around when her father died.

Their mother, Dr Khalida is a trained anesthesiologist who earlier served the UP government. After putting in her papers, she was into medical practice and was a senior aesthetic at the City Hospital, Srinagar family sources said.
