SRINAGAR

The ‘Karwan-e-Aman’ service between Srinagar and Muzaffarabad resumed on Monday two weeks after it was suspended due to seizure of brown sugar howl from a Truck of Pakistan administered Kashmir (PaK) in Salamabad, Uri.

Official sources said that 24 people boarded the bus from Srinagar for their journey to Muzaffarabad in PaK.

They added that most of the passengers were stranded in Jammu and Kashmir since the bus service was halted after the recovery of the brown sugar at a cross LoC trade post in Uri.

However, the trade standoff between India and Pakistan continues, with truckers from both sides stranded since January 17.

Reports said that, a truckers’ association in PaK has threatened to disrupt the bus service till all drivers return from the Indian side.
