A delegation of KAS Officers Association led by its President Tasaduq Hussain Mir on Wednesday called on the Chief Secretary B.B Vyas to appraise him about the incident of misbehaviour with one of their colleagues Shafiq Ahmed Chek, director RUSA, by Commissioner Secretary Higher Education Asgar Hassan Samoon.

The Chief Secretary described the incident as an unfortunate one and assured the delegation that the matter will be seriously looked into.

“The Association apprised the Chief Secretary about the increasing prevalence of such unfortunate incidents of misbehaviour with officers which have a demotivating effect on them, besides leading to an erosion of professional etiquettes,” a statement by the association said.

“In order to address the issue, the Chief secretary assured the delegation that a specific advisory will be issued to the Government Officers for regulating their behaviour and conduct in the professional lives in keeping with the provisions of J&K Civil Service Conduct Rules,” it added.

The Chief Secretary underscored the need to uphold the highest standards of professional etiquettes by Officers both in professional and public life, and maintenance of harmonious relationship at workplaces.
