While expressing anguish over the incident of manhandling of one of the senior officers of the service by a Minister of State at Kishtwar, a delegation of KAS Officers Association met the Chief Minister Omar Abdullah in presence of Chief Secretary, today in Jammu.

As per a statement the delegation has sought the intervention of chief minister in restoring the morale of the officers by taking immediate action and also for taking steps to curb recurrence of such incidents in future.

The CM has said that he has already taken notice of the incident and has conveyed his displeasure to the Minister. Omar has described the incident as unbecoming on the part of a public representative and has expressed his confidence that the issue shall be resolved soon.

The Chief Minister has also assured the delegation that no such incident will be allowed to happen in future and all necessary steps will be taken in this regard.

Chief Minister also stressed on the need to have guidelines regarding the requirement of the officers to accompany the Ministers during the tour programmes, especially in their constituencies, so that the public work does not suffer and assured that these guidelines shall be placed before the cabinet in the next cabinet meeting, reads the statement.
