Kashmir Administrative Services (KAS) Officers Association Sunday expressed grief and sorrow over the sad demise of Abid Maqbool, a young, energetic and upright KAS officer, who was presently posted as Deputy Director Tourism, Kashmir.

At a condolence meeting of KAS officers special prayers were organised for the eternal peace of the departed soul.

Paying rich tributes to the deceased, the speakers said that Abid was a noble soul and a dedicated officer whose demise has left a huge void in the service. “It is a great personal loss for every one of us,” they said and added that it is a moment of grief and mourning for the whole KAS fraternity as everybody, who knew Abid, cherished him.

The KAS officers expressed heartfelt sympathies with the bereaved family. “We pray to Almighty Allah to give his family and friends the strength to bear this terrible loss,” they said.

A 2001 batch KAS officer, Abid passed away at his residence last evening after prolonged illness.

  1. May almighty give his soul happiness and every KAS OR IAS Officer must inculcate in his mind that death is the ultimate of life so sow and do well when u have got power. Never misuse your power as it demolishes the careers of poor people only and no one else.
