Hundreds of firecrackers were burst in Srinagar and many other towns of Kashmir valley as Australia beat India in the cricket world cup semi final on Thursday.

Australia scored a huge 329 runs for six batting first however, India could not chase the total and lose by 95 runs.

As Australian pacer Mitchell Starc clean bowled India’s Umesh Yaday, fire crackers started bursting in Srinagar city, Baramulla, Islamabad, Sopore and many other towns of the valley, reports said.

Cricket fans had queued in front of showrooms since morning in and around Srinagar and were seen cheering for Australian team.

Even their favourite Pakistani team had lost in the quarter final to Australia, Kashmiri people clapped and cheered for the Kangaroos.
