Kashmir Chamber says businesses deliberately maligned

SRINAGAR: The Kashmir Chamber of Commerce & Industry has strongly condemned the maligning and defaming of some business houses by telecasting the false news of raids by National Investigating Agency (NIA) by a TV Channel.

The emergency meeting was presided over by the President Mushtaq Ahmad Wani.

“Kashmir Economy has been passing through crisis for quite some time especially post 2014 floods,” the Chamber statement said. “Such false, malicious and defamatory reporting by a section of electronic media is adding fuel to fire thereby subjugating the economy of Kashmir and  complicating the already volatile situation.”

Chamber appreciated the statement of Education Minister Altaf Ahmad Bukhari supporting our stand that such malicious reporting is disturbing peace in the Valley.

The Chamber demands that the State Government and press council of India take notice and initiate strong and punitive action to stop this ever growing menace.
