The situation created by incessant rainfall across state continues to be grim with Jhelum and other rivers flowing above danger marks inundating Islamabad, Pulwama, Budgam and Srinagar.

Jhelum crossed 21.8 ft at Sangam, 7 ft above danger mark.  At Ram Munshi Bagh, Jhelum crosses 30 ft against danger level of 23 ft. It crossed 13.2 ft at Asham against danger level of 15 ft.

Breach occurred at Kandizal in Budgam area affecting 70000 population.

Besides, 60 percent water supply schemes, nearly 500 water supply schemes disrupted in the valley. Kulgam, Baramulla, Shopian and Islamabad are worst affected.

In Jammu division, flash floods have wreaked havoc in Poonch. All flood protection works damaged, approaches of main Poonch bridge damaged.

Chenab flowing at 38 ft at Akhnoor, above 4 ft danger mark. Tawi flowing at 13.5 ft at Jammu against danger mark of 17 ft.

It is likely to rain for another couple of days in both Jammu and Kashmir division.

Out of total 20 causalities reported in state, 2 deaths occurred each in Islamabad, Baramulla and Budgam. One death was reported from Doda, while 6 and 7 deaths were reported respectively from Reasi and Poonch.
