Embroiled in issues that the situation threw up in last nearly five months, the informal Kashmir Editors Guild (KEG) is a formal body. On Thursday, it elected its office bearers for the next one year ending December 2017.
Fayaz Ahmad Kaloo, Chief Editor Greater Kashmir is KEG President with Tahir Mohiuddin, (Chattan) and Bashir Manzar (Kashmir Images) as Vice-Presidents. Masood Hussain, (Kashmir Life) is KEGs Secretary Genaral. Haroon Rashid Shah (Nidai-Mashriq) was elected Organiser cum Treasurer and Shafat Kira, (Kashmir Vision) is the Guild’s spokesman.
Executive members of the Guild include Ghulam Geelani Qadri (Afaaq), Zahoor Hashmi (Aftab), Bashir Ahmad Bashir (Srinagar Times), Sajjad Haider (Kashmir Observer), Shamim Mehraj (Kashmir Monitor), Dr Shujaat Bukhari (Rising Kashmir), Manzoor Unjum, (Uqab), Haji Hayat (Kashmir Reader), Zahoor Ahmad Malik (Kashmir Times) and Raja Mohiuddin (Tameel-e-Irshad).
