Moderate to high voting is being witnessed in all the polling stations across 18 assembly constituencies of Kashmir which are going to polls on Sunday.
Reports coming from Chanapora, Methan, Rambagh, Laway Pora, Jawahar Nagar, Rajbagh, Bemina, Hazratbal and Zadibal areas in Srinagar said that people are coming out in considerable numbers to cast their vote.
In South Kashmir also long queues of voters were seen outside polling booths in Wachi, Dooru, Shangus, Pahalgam, Bijbehara, Islamabad and Shopian.
Government spokesman said that voting for the 4th phase of J&K Assembly Elections 2014 has commenced in the 18 constituencies including 18-Hazratbal, 19-Zadibal, 20-Eidgah, 21-Khanyar, 22-Haba Kadal, 23-Amira Kadal, 24-Sonwar, 25-Batamaloo, 40-Islamabad, 42-Dooru, 43-Kokernag, 44-Shangus, 45-Bijbehara, 46-Pahalgam, 35-Wachi 36-Shopian, 68 Samba (SC) and 69Vijaypur spread across four districts of Srinagar, Islamabad, Shopian and Samba.
Despite severe cold, people were seen marching towards the polling booths and long queues of electorate were seen outside the polling booths to exercise their franchise.
