In order to give boost to heritage cottage industry of Kashmir, Handicrafts, the Kashmir Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI) organized an event, Kashmir Expo in New Delhi on January 02.

“The Expo provided a platform to Craftsmen, Artisans and Entrepreneurs to exhibit our rich heritage in handicrafts where they would be able to directly meet retail buyers from ever growing domestic market in India,” said Abdul Hamid Punjabi, president KCCI.

The event, granted by Development Commissioner (Handicrafts), Ministry of Textiles, GOI, is going to continue till January 14.

As per a statement, the DC Handicrafts was pleased at the arrangements made by the KCCI. He has assured the KCCI that his Office is keen to sponsor similar events organized by KCCI both nationally and internationally which is a good move towards the efforts being done by KCCI from time to time to fight against the counterfeits of Kashmiri Handicrafts, reads a statement.
