The Army of local RR unit on Saturday said it rescued about 22 villagers affected by flood in villages Kawari, Awatkul and Mughalpura in Kupwara district. All the three villages are on the bank of river Pohru.

“The local RR unit flood relief columns worked tirelessly and helped in evacuation and relocation of affected villagers,” the army PRO said. “A total of 22 villagers from all three villages were provided assistance in relocating to safer location, food packets and Medicine to affected villagers were also distributed.:

Houses still remain inundated in the area and the water level is being continuously monitored by the flood relief columns, the army informed.
