At the zero line near LoC (Line of Control), a village Selikot has been cut off from the rest of the valley after a landslide blocked the only gate available to this village.

Selikot is one of those villages which fall under fencing at LoC. The landslide that occurred Friday evening has trapped 47 families inside the fence.

The trapped families have requested army to cut the fence at some other place so that they could visit the market places to buy the essential commodities.

SDM URI Dr Abdul Aziz told Kashmir Life that he has asked 161 Army Brigade posted at the fence to do the needful. “I have talked to Brigadier and he has ensured all the help,” he said.

Meanwhile, the washed off NS Bridge which cut off 20 villages in URI has been taken for renovation, the concerned official informed Kashmir Life. “For the time being, we have laid pipes and sheaths in the area for the public movement,” he said.
