SRINAGAR

Three unidentified bodies were recovered from Suran river in Surankote (Poonch).

Officials told news agencies they are in the process of ascertaining their identity. The government in Srinagar has already confirmed the death of seven persons in Poonch district in addition to the ill fated bus that was washed away.

The bus was washed away in Rajpor Kamila village of Nowshera Tehsil which falls in Rajouri district. The bus was carrying a marriage party. While local reports said six passengers reached the banks of the rivulet, officials said only three have survived. The number of deaths in the incident solely bases on the number of passengers it was carrying.

Though it is too early to ascertain the losses but officials said at least 200 houses and unspecified number of culverts and bridges have been washed away.
