After a high level meeting of the state officials Thursday afternoon it was decided that the Civil Secretariat will function from the old Secretariat premises from Friday.

Sources told Kashmir Life that only a few officials and employees had reached the Civil Secretariat today due to situation arisen by the devastating floods.

They added that officials held a meeting at the legislative complex and after a thorough review, it was decided that the secretariat will function from the premises of the old Secretariat from Friday.

“It was concluded that the ground floor of the Civil Secretariat building is badly hit by flood and the surrounding areas are still submerged,” sources said adding, “so it was decided to function from the old secretariat building from Friday.”

Earlier, a small number of the government officials in the summer capital had reached the Civil Secretariat after eleven days of the devastating floods which has taken around 250 lives so far.
